Com2uS Holdings, the holding company of the Com2uS Group, is poised for a significant leap forward in 2024, leveraging its game, platform, and Web3 businesses.
While serving as a holding company, Com2uS Holdings has been actively pursuing various businesses related to games. It has simultaneously released most of its works globally and operates the global service platform “Hive” through its subsidiaries. Additionally, the company runs the blockchain platform “XPLA.”
Over the past year, Com2uS Holdings has undergone notable changes. In June last year, to sustain the company's continuous growth, Cheol-ho Jung took office as the CEO, leading to changes in the management system.
Subsequently, the company achieved success by launching the large-scale MMORPG “Zenonia” and the mobile RPG “Heir of Light” in September. Existing games like “The Walking Dead: All Stars,” “MLB Perfect Inning 23,” and “Gamevil Pro Baseball Superstars 2023” have continued to show a consistent performance.
XPLA, in particular, was more proactive, onboarding various games across different genres such as “Summoners War: Chronicles,” “MiniGame Paradise,” “Ace Fishing: Crew,” “The Walking Dead: All Stars,” “Idle Ninja Online,” “Idle Luca,” and “Chromatic Soul: AFK Raid.” Additionally, the company actively promoted XPLA through listings on major exchanges and participation in events such as Japan Blockchain Week.
Hive has continually expanded its ecosystem by consistently discovering and partnering with external game companies, contributing to the growth of its sales. The platform has not only strengthened its position as a gaming platform, but is also actively engaging in the gaming incubation business through participation in public projects.
As a result, the cumulative performance as of the third quarter was recorded as approximately KRW 121 billion in revenue, about KRW 2.4 billion in operating profit, and a net loss of KRW 8.5 billion. Although the third quarter showed positive results, including an increased revenue and a shift to profitability, the previous performance was not as favorable.
Considering the expected fourth-quarter results, if reflected, the revenue is likely to exceed KRW 150 billion, marking the highest performance in recent years. However, challenges persist due to the losses incurred from various business initiatives.
In the coming year, Com2uS Holdings is planning to focus on its existing businesses. In the gaming sector, it will make a full-fledged entry into the idle RPG market with the global release of “Soul Strike” on January 17th.
The company is aiming to launch “Zenonia” globally, starting with Taiwan and Japan in the second quarter, followed by a global release in the fourth quarter, while showcasing its domestic service expertise and enhanced content.
XPLA will continue to actively secure partnerships, strengthen connections, and pursue listings on major exchanges, especially in Japan. The company will also onboard web3-based games continuously, in order to expand its ecosystem. In particular, its collaboration with Carbonated, a web3-based game company founded by renowned game developers, will be carried out in full swing.
Hive platform will expand its partner sales by contracting with major domestic and international clients. The platform will enhance its product competitiveness through PC cross-play and community services. Through these efforts, the company is aiming to increase its new game contracts by more than 50% and double the number of new clients compared to the previous year.
