KRAFTON Inc.is set to host the global esports tournament 'PUBG Global Series (PGS)4' for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS.
PGS is a global tournament where 24 top professional teams from around the world compete for the honor of being the best. This PGS 4 will take place from June 3 to 9 at the Global Content Export Center in Shanghai, China, featuring both group stages and final stages.

Following the previous PGS 3, 14 teams that performed well in regional tournaments and 10 'Global Partner Teams' will participate. Representing Korea, KWANGDONG FREECS, Dplus KIA, and GNL Esports, who placed 1st to 3rd in the '2024 PUBG Weekly Series (PWS) Phase 1,' will compete, with Gen.G joining as a Global Partner Team.
The group stage, dividing the 24 teams into three groups of eight, uses a 'snake draft' format based on the results of PGS 3 to sequentially place teams in each group. Consequently, KWANGDONG FREECS is in Group A, Dplus KIA and GNL Esports are in Group B, and Gen.G is in Group C.
Group A includes six APAC teams, such as Cerberus Esports, eArena,Valee Thai Esports, Daytrade Gaming, Bleed Esports, and Armory Gaming, making it a competitive group. KWANGDONG FREECS, along with
EMEA team HOWL Esports, will face fierce competition from these APAC teams.
Group B features a 'Three Kingdoms' battle between two American teams, including PGS 3 runner-up Soniqs and TSM, alongside two Korean teams, and three Chinese teams: Petrichor Road, Weibo Gaming, and Four Angry Men.
Group C is considered the 'Group of Death,' with Twisted Minds and Natus Vincere, who placed 3rd and 4th in the PGS 3 final stage, and NH-ESPORTS, who ranked 3rd in the group stage, joined by 17Gaming, who are on the rise with the return of star player ‘LilGhost’. Gen.G, FaZe Clan, Virtus.pro, and Team Falcons, who had poor performances in PGS 3, will aim for a comeback.
The group stage will be held from June 3 to 5 over three days. Group A will face Group B on the first day, Group B will face Group C on the second day, and Group C will face Group A on the third day, with six matches played each day.
Based on the group stage rankings, the top 16 teams will advance to the final stage. After a day of rest, the final stage will take place from June 7 to 9, with a total of 18 matches determining the PGS 4 champion.
The total prize pool for PGS 4 is $300,000, with $100,000 awarded to the winning team, and the remaining teams from 2nd to 24th place receiving prize money ranging from $40,000 to $1,000.
Based on the final rankings of PGS 4, teams will be awarded PGS points, which are used to qualify for the 'PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2024,' the top global tournament for PUBG esports, held at the end of this year. The top eight teams with the most PGS points accumulated over four PGS events and regional qualifiers of the Esports World Cup will directly qualify for PGC 2024.
All PGS 4 matches will start at 7 PM KST and will be broadcast on the official PUBG Esports YouTube channel, AfreecaTV, Twitch, TikTok, and Naver Esports channel.
