NCSOFT's MMORPG “Throne and Liberty (TL)” has successfully rebounded, true to its name, following a major update called “Ascension”.
On the 24th, “TL” launched a substantial update packed with new content and improvements, including the much-anticipated hyper-boosting server, which saw a flood of players from day one. The starting point, Castler Village, was bustling with players and was reminiscent of the game's official launch day.
Among them were many who had previously enjoyed “TL”. The players expressed their satisfaction with the new system changes introduced in the “Ascension” update and took advantage of the hyper boosting server to rapidly level up alternate characters. “TL” has introduced new content such as a specialized skill system, easier equipment growth, a Challenge Dimensional Circle, and lifestyle content (fishing, cooking), aiming to transform the game experience.
The hyper boosting server, by offering various benefits, seems to have attracted new, returning, and existing players alike. It provides “ultra-fast growth” by doubling rewards like Sollant and experience points.
In addition, every 10 levels, players receive an equipment box to facilitate easy equipment acquisition. After reaching the final milestone of Level 50, players are granted a full set of 1-star hero equipment, enabling them to continue enjoying a range of activities including coop dungeons, local events, and resistance group requests.
The joy of rapid progression has also been a significant draw. Following the main story alone allowed players to swiftly level up, with some reaching Level 20 within an hour, proving the development team's claim that the possibility to reach Level 50 in a day was no exaggeration.
However, there was a minor hiccup on the first day. A quest involving investigating a cluster of spider eggs became congested due to the number of players versus the available spider eggs, slowing down the quest progress. NCSOFT quickly implemented an unscheduled patch to resolve this issue.
The first hyper boosting server has already closed for new character creation. It filled up before 8 PM on the 25th, less than four hours after opening. A second hyper boosting server is now open, and the characters created there will be transferred to regular servers upon the server's closure.
Regarding the “Ascension” update, Park Geon-soo, Head of the Revision Task Force, shared his thoughts on the balance adjustments on the official 'TL' Discord. "The goal of this update was to moderate the previously aggressive and fast-paced meta," he explained. "We are aiming to create a PvP environment that responds strategically to changing conditions, without undermining the existing combat experience and tempo."
