SHIFT UP's action-packed mobile shooter “Goddess of Victory: Nikke (hereafter referred to as Nikke)” celebrates its 1.5th anniversary since its November 2022 launch.
■ Global Popularity Poll II and 1.5th Anniversary Content
The results of the "Global Popularity Poll II" event, hosted by SHIFT UP's service "Nikke," have been announced. Modernia emerged as the winner of the 1st poll, earning a place in the Hall of Fame, but did not feature as a candidate in the 2nd poll.
In the 2nd Global Popularity Poll, with a participation rate exceeding one million, Red Hood clinched the top spot. Dorothy secured second place, with Honglian coming in third.
Furthermore, Anachiro was voted as the favorite NPC, and the favorite mini-game title went to "Memory of Goddess (hereafter referred to as MOG)". "MOG," reminiscent of "Vampire Survivors," garnered acclaim for its captivating dot-style visuals and an innovative approach to gameplay, aiming for a fresh and addictive experience.
A new update will be implemented on the 25th. The update will introduce a new Nikke named Crown, belonging to the SSR rank as a 2-Burst Pilgrim. She is a defensive-type Nikke equipped with an Iron Code and utilizes a machine gun as her weapon.
Crown excels in both offense and defense for the squad, aiding Nikkes in their attacks when they use their Burst Skills, while also providing additional effects when she recovers.
Chaim, the secretary of the Crown Kingdom, is voiced by the voice actress Lee Dal-lae. She is a cheerful and lively character who assists Crown. As a new NPC, Chaim appears in the Last Kingdom episode where the Crown plays an active role.
Kilo, the new 3-Burst Defense-type Nikke, isn't particularly formidable on her own. Instead, she boards the robotic weapon T.A.L.O.S. and joins the battlefield. With her Incinerate Code, Kilo's combat tactics vary based on the status of her shield. When her shield is active, she unleashes powerful AoE attacks that grow stronger with her HP. If her shield is destroyed, she promptly erects an even sturdier one.
New costumes are being added for Modernia, Snow White, and Diesel. Additionally, a new Rapture named Indivilia is being introduced, along with the unveiling of a special 1.5th anniversary Indivilia theme song created by a popular artist. The theme song will be performed by the Japanese group Queen Bee.
In addition to the previously mentioned content, a new mini-game called "For the King" is being added. This defense game has players team up with Nikke to defeat hordes of Rapture. Furthermore, new main story chapters 29 and 30 will also be released.
An optimization update is also on its way. It will enhance the personal profile decoration feature and introduce new stages for the Lost Sector and Towers. During weekends, rewards for interception battles and the Simulation Room will double, while daily mission rewards will be added to aid new players in their gameplay experience. Furthermore, the Skill Reset Time-Limited Event will be introduced, along with the Brand New Year story event added to the archive.
In the pipeline for future updates is the return of the acclaimed mini-game "MOG" in its 2.0 version. Furthermore, new nurturing features like Collectibles and Affection Equipment are on the verge of being updated. Notably, Nikkes who unlock Affection Equipment will have access to exclusive wallpapers and special stories.
The 1.5th-anniversary event story has been confirmed as "Last Kingdom," closely intertwined with the side story "Second Affection." Director Yoo Hyung-suk mentioned, "We've put a lot of thought into different aspects, including the story, mini-games, and characters, for the 1.5th anniversary." He added, "Last Kingdom centers around the tale of safeguarding the kingdom, with Crown at its heart."
Additionally, we've poured our hearts into refining aspects such as the story, Nikkes, effects, and music. We've added more art resources, especially in the implementation of Nikkes. For the new Nikke, Crown, we've paid meticulous attention to hair representation, and we're planning to showcase a diverse range of facial expressions to convey a wider array of emotions compared to other Nikkes.
The upcoming boss Rapture, previously balanced by limiting the number of skills, may now have around 10 skills, potentially raising the perceived difficulty level. This will lead to more engaging battles with diverse skills and patterns.
Meanwhile, the main storyline of "Nikke" will focus on ground exploration for a while. The surface, left untouched by human hands, will serve as the backdrop for Nikkes to embark on various events and adventures.
On May 25th and 26th, an offline exhibition named "Beyond The Memories" will be held at Layer57 in Seongsu-dong. This event is dedicated to reflecting on Nikke's past 1.5 years. Seven cosplayers will participate, and various sections will be set up, including special merchandise sales and a café staffed by maid Nikkes. In-game, players can enjoy up to 108 free recruitment opportunities, and they will also receive SSR Nikke Kilo or Rei for free.
